There's a warning/error message saying that the new cartridge that I have installed is a non-genuine/counterfeit cartridge. What should I do?

1) Please remove the cartridge and make sure that nothing is between the chip and the contact part on the printer (like dust or lint, etc.)

2) Install the cartridge back into the printer. If the error message shows up again, click "OK" or the check mark.

It is often due to certain printer model's firmware being upgraded. Thus, the chip inside the cartridge is no longer recognized by the printer. Why am I getting faded prints?

For Brother drums, the reason for getting faded prints is often due to the drum unit. Please be sure to replace the drum unit after the use of 3-4 cartridges, or when the printer indicates it’s time to replace.

 

Why am I getting an error message when I install my new LINKYO replacement cartridge?

For Brother cartridge, the reason is mostly because the printer just need to be reset with the cartridge installed. Please go back to the top of the page to choose the product you are having issue with for specific troubleshooting instructions.

For Canon/HP cartridge, first please make sure the chip of the cartridge and contact part on the printer are clean. Next, you can install the cartridge back into the printer. If the error message shows up, you can simply click “OK” to bypass.

For Samsung cartridge, it is often due to certain printer model’s firmware being upgraded. Thus, the chip inside the cartridge is no longer recognized by the printer. Why am I getting white horizontal lines running through each line of my print?

Why do I have black vertical lines or streaks on printed documents?

The reason for getting black vertical lines on your prints is often due to the drum unit. For Brother drums, it comes with a tab that you can move back and forth horizontally to clean the corona wire (Note: Return the tab back to the home position before installing back into the printer). After cleaning, install it back to the printer for a few test prints to see if lines still appear on your prints.

If lines still exist, the drum unit may have scratches. You will then have to replace your drum unit.

 

Why doesn’t my LINKYO replacement toner cartridge fit in the printer?

For Brother toner, Please be sure you have the toner cartridge installed in the drum unit, in order to fit and work properly in your printer.

 

What is the difference between toner cartridge and drum unit?

Toner cartridge is a cartridge or container of toner particles. On the other hand, a drum unit is used to transfer toner particles from their reservoir to the pages. While the toner particles is transferred, the electrical-charged image lines in the drum pick up the toner particles while the other part of the drum remains neutral. After that, these toner particles are transferred on the paper where they are melted and set on the paper.

Many toner cartridges, like Canon, nowadays are designed to have both the cartridge and drum built into one unit. But for most Brother laser printers, toner cartridge and drum unit is separated. If you have or planning to purchase a Brother laser printer, please make sure that you have both the toner cartridge and drum unit because it is required to have both installed together to work properly.

 

I just installed my new replacement for Brother toner cartridge and/or drum unit, how come it still tells me it’s low or needs to be replaced?

Often it is because the toner cartridge or drum unit needs to be reset. Go back to top to find the specific instructions for your cartridge model.

 

How come I didn’t get the number of pages from the cartridge as the page yield that’s indicated?

Below are some of the factors that contribute to getting less prints than the indicated page yield:

• Page yield is measured at a 5% page coverage, but we often print more than a 5% page coverage (what does 5% looks like?)

• Our printing habit varies within the cartridge’s lifetime; Thus, the cartridge’s page yield will vary as well.

• The type of paper we use (e.g: label, cardstock, etc.) to print can also affect page yield as well

• Condition of the printer and humidity around the printer may affect page yield, but it usually only affect less than 10%.
